A French tip manicure is simple, clean, elegant, and effective. It goes with every single outfit, looks great for special occasions, and lasts ages. But when one woman went to her local salon and asked for the quintessential design, the nail tech who did it for her managed to mess up so badly that it left the customer "in tears".
Amy, who posts on TikTokas @amy._lou_, shared the picture that she gave to the nail tech as "inspiration," explaining that she wanted plain white French tips. Amy wanted her nailsto be "short" and in an "almond" shape. However, for some reason, this was not possible for the person doing her nails.
She said that she wasn't sure whether to "laugh" at the poor attempt or whether she should "cry" because they were so badly done, in her opinion.

She first noticed something was off while getting her nails filed, as they didn't look right.
She said she was "trying not to show panic" on her face, and was telling herself that she could "refile them at home" when she got back.
Her nails were filed badly, with jagged edges, rather than looking smooth and almond-shaped like she'd requested. Some of them were filed at an angle as well, culminating in a flat line at the top.
Amy said that she was "trying to trust the process," which sometimes you do when you're in the hands of professionals.
But, sadly, on this occasion, it turns out trusting the process wasn't the best thing that she could've done at that stage, and she probably should've walked away before getting gel on her nails.
However, when the treatment was finished, she was horrified to see they were all "crooked and uneven". The tips were not even the same thickness, which is vital when getting this design.
Amy said that "nothing was smooth whatsoever," with even the pink-toned base looking a little lumpier than it should.
She claimed that the nail tech also did "nothing" to clean up her cuticles, meaning that the manicure looked really messy and unprofessional.
"There's white polish everywhere. It's not clean whatsoever," Amy explained, which is the exact reason you opt for a French manicure, for that 'clean girl' effect.
Also, she noticed that there were "different lengths on all of them," holding up both of her index fingers, with one still quite long, and the other had been filed a lot more significantly.
The white was also not "fully painted on the sides of the nail," which made the nails look messy.
To make things worse, Amy said that she left in two days for "a friend's wedding" and she was working both of the two days, so wouldn't have time to get them redone.
In the comments, someone seethed that this "wasn't a complicated request," saying they'd "cry". Amy admitted she "did".
Another fumed: "No, y'all need to SPEAK UP!! I have been there so many times, and settled on the fact that I am paying for a service, and if anything is off, I will ask them to fix it along the way.
"They might get irritated, but I know good and well they see what I see".
